George Fang is a Managing Director at Pivot >, providing restructuring and financial advisory services to clients navigating complex, high-stakes situations. George brings more than two decades and $6 billion of advisory and transaction experience across restructuring and investment banking. George has originated and led engagements across multiple sectors including Healthcare, Technology, Financial Services, Hospitality, Education, Real Estate.
Before joining Pivot >, George served as Americas Market Leader in Deloitte’s Turnaround & Restructuring practice, where he originated and led restructuring engagements. His experience includes both debtor-side and creditor-side advisory roles including restructuring the debt of a large hospital system in Chapter 11, advising a global cloud-based technology provider regarding its immediate-term cash/liquidity alternatives, advising a financial services giant on its strategic alternatives during the pendency of its large mortgage subsidiary’s bankruptcy and restructuring the debt of a hotel & resort operator, amongst other meaningful engagements.
George previously founded an independent advisory firm where he advised clients on capital structure, liquidity planning and operational turnarounds and held senior restructuring advisory roles at Deloitte Restructuring, Huron Consulting and Goldin Associates. His earlier career includes leadership roles in investment banking and capital markets at UBS, ING Barings and Jefferies.
George holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) designate and active member of the Turnaround Management Association and American Bankruptcy Institute.
In his free time, George enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time with his wife and young son.
