Alison Wirtz is a Managing Director at Pivot >, where she supports clients through complex restructurings, distressed situations, and strategic transactions. As a former restructuring lawyer, she brings over a decade of experience advising stakeholders on navigating operational and financial challenges. Alison’s experience spans a number of industries, including automotive, digital assets, energy, entertainment and media, financial services, hospitality, retail, and real estate. 

Before joining Pivot >, Alison was a Partner in the Restructuring Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she represented companies, debtors, lenders, plan sponsors, and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings, liability management transactions, distressed acquisitions, and cross-border restructurings. 

Earlier in her career, Alison was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and has experience in commercial litigation finance and economic consulting. 

An active member of the restructuring community, Alison frequently speaks on bankruptcy and restructuring topics. Alison earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and holds a B.A. in Economics and Law, Letters & Society from the University of Chicago, where she was on the women’s track and field team. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois.
