Stephanie Wickouski

Stephanie Wickouski is a Managing Director of Pivot >, leading the New York office and delivering strategic solutions to distressed companies and their stakeholders. She leverages over 40 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency law, providing expert guidance on complex financial and operational challenges and navigating high-stakes bankruptcy litigation, restructuring transactions, and distressed asset sales.

Stephanie’s extensive experience spans numerous industries, including fintech, digital assets, energy, real estate, consumer products, and healthcare. She has served as lead counsel in high-profile reorganization cases, advised on credit defaults, and provided comprehensive services for Section 363 asset sales. Her roles as an independent fiduciary, mediator, and expert witness amplify her ability to address multifaceted financial situations.

Before joining Pivot, Stephanie was a senior partner at an AmLaw 100 firm and served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch, where she earned recognition for her work in airline bankruptcies. She is a panel mediator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and has authored three influential books, including “Bankruptcy Crimes” and “Indenture Trustee Bankruptcy Powers & Duties.”

A recognized thought leader, Stephanie frequently speaks and writes on bankruptcy and restructuring topics. She has been honored by Turnarounds & Workouts as an Outstanding Restructuring Lawyer, and by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America Judicial Edition for her contributions to the field. Stephanie holds a J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and an A.B. from The College of William & Mary. She is admitted to the bar in New York, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
